Posting will be slim ’round these parts for the next couple of weeks, as I’ll be off on my honeymoon (a road trip through Vermont and New York State). However, I just wanted to say that if you happen to run into Damson plums (they’re at the end of their season right now), you should consider buying some and making jam. They make the most wonderfully sweet/tart jam I’ve ever had. I used eight cups of chopped plums and five cups of sugar and cooked it all down until it was thick and around 217 degrees. Delicious!
Congratulations!!! I hope your wedding and honeymoon are wonderful. I’m in Southern Vermont and the colours are just starting to show so the view on your road trip should be lovely.
Also – you’re making my mouth water with the talk of plum jam!
This is uncanny, yet another photo that looks like a painting. There must be something wrong with my eyes.
Have fun! Congratulations! Can’t wait to see pictures from your trip 🙂
Congratulations! Wishing you safe travels, and much happiness!
Congratulations!! Have a great time with all the adventures you’ll have in the next few weeks 🙂

Congratulations to you and Scott!
Oooh, congratulations!!!! Enjoy the road trip as well, I LOVED Vermont so much (make sure to visit Montpellier and stop off at the Penny Cluse Cafe in Burlington for the most amazing breakfasts and lunches. Yum.
Hope the wedding was wonderful and the honeymoon is relaxing and filled with bliss. I agree with you on the Damn Damsons! I’ve got 6 jars of Damson plum jam downstairs. It’s my husband’s fave. (Personally, I think the blackberry jam I made with your recipe is the best one I’ve done.)
Blessings to you both! Have a wonderful time!
Congratulations. I wish you both all the best in your future.
Congratulatuions to you both and enjoy!
Congratulations! I just found your blog through the kitchen and think it’s fantastic. Wishing you the happiest wedding and honeymoon, and looking forward to your return!
Congrats! We’ll be doing the same thing soon. Vermont is so gorgeous this time of year. Good eating and travelling!
We just moved into a house with three damson trees, what a surprise to find a new fruit! They are divine in jam form, and next year we are going to try to make damson cheese, since this year’s collapsed mightily.
Congratulations on the wedding, and thanks for such a great site!
