Giveaway: Maple Syrup from Tree of Life Maple Farm

July 17, 2017

This week’s giveaway comes to us from the Babiarz family at the Tree of Life Maple Farm. They are a small organic maple farm based in Northwestern Maine, just a few miles from the Canadian border. All the maple products they sell come from their sugarbush, which they tap while the trees are still frozen. This allows them to gather the cleanest and clearest sap as thaw arrives.

The Tree of Life syrup is available in three different colors. Each color has its own unique properties while retaining its essential maple qualities. The lightest syrups are generally made earlier in the season, while the darker hues typically come later.

Tree of Life Maple Farm sells their syrup in a variety of packages. They offer glass bottles in a handful of different sizes and shapes for gift giving, as well as in more conventional plastic jugs for those of us who like to cook and bake with our maple and want something a little easier to juggle in the kitchen.

They also sell some of the most gorgeous, light maple sugar I’ve tried (and I used a lot of the stuff while working on Naturally Sweet Food in Jars).

The team at Tree of Life believes that maple syrup is good for so much more than just pancakes. It’s something that is equally delicious in coffee, yogurt, baked goods, and more. And one lucky winner will get a chance to try some of their delicious syrup. This week, we’re giving away one 500 ml glass jug of Organic Golden Maple Syrup and one 500 ml glass jug of Organic Dark Maple Syrup to share. Please use the widget below to enter!

  • We only use pure maple syrup on our pancakes and waffles. This summer our family has explored using maple syrup and honey as sweeteners instead of the traditional cane sugar. It has been tremendously fun!

  • I use maple syrup in smoothies, when making granola, with pancakes, waffles and French toast. I am new to using it in baking! But have been happy with my results so far.

  • We always use pure maple syrup on pancakes and waffles. I also have a recipe for a Maple Bourbon cocktail that is awesome. Just sayin’.

  • it is so expensive, we use it mainly on pancakes and waffles, but occasionally it makes it way into cocktails.

  • I ended up with a pound of maple sugar this fall and used some of it in a batch of apple butter that I canned!

  • Last year the one vegetable that stumped me in my CSA veggie box was turnips. I used them all up, but was never happy with them. But now I have found a way to prepare them that I adore – drizzle them in maple syrup and roast them! It is like eating candy it’s so good!

  • I used to use it on pancakes, but we are eating a paleo diet now…so I would use it as a sweetner.

  • I use real maple syrup on everything pancakes, baked oatmeal, baking.
    I just love the stuff!

  • Oatmeal, best glazed carrots when cooked with maple syrup. It’s good as a sweetener in coffee or certain type of tea. Hope I win, lol I never do, but this would be an awesome win.

    Thank you for the giveaway.

  • Usually in my oatmeal or on pancakes but I have put it in my coffee and it’s actually pretty good.

  • believe it or not, but I’ve never actually had real maple syrup! I’d love to try this, and know I’ll be forever hooked on the good stuff! I’d like to try maple syrup in some of my salad dressings in place of honey, and also french toast, the best thing ever!

  • I’ve only ever used it in recipes that call for maple syrup… it is far too expensive for our family to use it for pancakes. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I love broiled salmon with a reduction of maple syrup and homemade whole grain mustard. Last night I found a recipe for bacon jam that included maple syrup – planning to make it for my son-in-law’s birthday!

  • I’ve hesitated to use maple syrup in my jams, because its pricey and I dont want to add more water. Maple sugar may be the way to go, right?

  • I LOVE whole wheat pancakes and eat them at least once a week with maple syrup of course! However, Marisa McLeland also taught me to use maple syrup for preserving from her cookbook. Thank you!

  • I recently started drinking fruit and herb waters and I use maple syrup as a sweetener because it doesn’t have a weird tang that honey has. Oh, pancakes and waffles, too!

  • I mainly like it on pancakes and waffles, but I’ve also found uses for it in even savory dishes (like a maple glazed pork tenderloin)!

  • I love maple syrup. I use it for the usual pancakes and waffles but use it a lot in baking and it is delicious on salmon!

  • We usually use maple syrup on oatmeal, in coconut milk ice cream or baking. But i think i need to try using maple sugar in preserves now!

  • I use maple syrup mostly for my granola. The kids love it on their waffles or pancakes and sometimes I use it for baking and cooking too. Lots of uses really!

  • I use maple syrup to make cornbread. When I was younger my favorite way to eat it was on top of vanilla ice cream!

  • Here in California, it’s so hard to get good maple syrup! We have a nearly-empty bottle we bought in Canada four years ago, and I’ve been hoarding it and rationing it out carefully. The tiniest drizzle on my pancakes, a tablespoon or two in baked goods…

  • So glad I read all the other comments – got some great ideas for uses in addition to pancakes. Will try it on oatmeal and in yogurt and after I move I’ll try making my own granola with it.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Good maple syrup is such a treat! I usually just use it on breakfast goods, but this post has me thinking about other ideas….

  • i love maple syrup on my pancakes/waffles. And i recently started using it in Blueberry jam, Christine is right too! it’s great on bacon too!

  • The only reason I eat maple syrup on pancakes and waffles is because people look at me funny if I pour it straight into my mouth! :9 I also love “accidentally” spilling it on my bacon.

  • We actually use maple syrup in many things. If I want to sweeten my smoothie, maple syrup. In jams and other put up canning, absolutely maple syrup. Don’t forget the traditional pancakes (gluten free please!), totally maple syrup. It and honey is my go to sweeteners. I heard just a few months ago that there are medicinal goodness in maple syrup that researchers are looking in to. Im not surprised!! Yumm.

  • I love love love real syrup. I treat it like a food, not just a sweetener. A little bit in every waffle square with lots of butter is my fav 🙂

  • I’m not sure what I’d do with it. I’d have to taste it first, because REAL maple syrup tastes different than what I sometimes use on pancakes, and waffles.

  • Having grown up in Wisconsin, we’ve always used real maple syrup on pancakes, and sometimes with crepes as well.

  • I’m pretty puritanical when it comes to putting maple syrup on things, but I often use real syrup on leftover white rice with a little pad of butter. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve learned from my boss!

  • I love maple syrup. I hardly ever use it on pancakes or waffles as I tend to use it up as a flavoring for baked goods. Maple custard is one of my favorite things ever.

  • I use maple syrup for all those uses, and I like using it as a glaze for scones, and also for homemade crackers, brush the rolled dough (that I often incorporate fresh herbs or lemon zest, etc.) and then add seeds or white & black sesame seeds, and more. So good. I use maple syrup to make homemade ice cream esp to glaze walnuts, both English and black walnuts for the ice cream. I like to use it for homemade granola.

  • We love maple syrup over here! I use it on pancakes and in oatmeal mainly. But, I also really love granola that is lightly sweetened with maple syrup. I will occasionally sneak some into my smoothies, too, because sometimes you just need a little extra sweetness to get your day started! Thank you for the opportunity to win. 🙂

  • I have only used it on Pancakes and in recipes. But I would love to try it in preserves. Small family and we don’t eat a lot of preserves, but I would like to start making some.

  • With a diabetic in the family maple syrup is a holiday only treat. We use it in baking winter goodies. I’d love to try it in my coffee! What a great idea.

  • I use maple syrup all the time-it’s my favorite sweetener in raw desserts, marinades, granola, and more. I’d love to try Tree of Life’s version.

  • LOVE real maple syrup…I always have a bottle in the fridge. I try to get the grade B Dark for baking when I can find it!!

  • I have NEVER had real maple syrup! I would love to try some on my homemade waffles and pancakes to see what all the fuss is about. 😉

  • I use maple syrup in all sorts of savory recipes – maple mustard chicken, roasted apples and sweet potatoes. And of course, pancakes!

Ooh, someone up there mentioned putting it in granola; I like that idea.

  • I make muesli almost every night, I use a very small amount of maple syrup in it – though somehow the bottle disappears anyway (ok that may have to do with the waffles, we use only REAL maple syrup here).

  • We use maple syrup most reliably on oatmeal or Greek yogurt for breakfast, but also use it to sweeten tea and flavor pan-fried brussels sprouts. Generally anything that we might put honey in, we’ll also turn to maple syrup!

  • We’re mostly a put it on pancakes house, but our preferred apple butter recipe does use maple syrup as its sweetener.

  • I do love it on pancakes, but also in preserves. I’ve made a maple vanilla peach jam (from the Preserving with Pomona’s Pectin book) that was amazing.
