For the last six years, the highlight of my January has been the day the box of Meyer lemons arrives on my doorstep from the Lemon Ladies Orchard in Emerald Hills, California. My whole apartment fills with their fragrance the moment I unseal the box and I spend the next week or so making marmalade, syrups, curds, preserved lemons, and dehydrated rounds.

Last April, while I was on the first leg of my book tour, I spent a little time visiting Lemon Ladies and getting to know the owner, Karen Morss (she even put me up one night, which was incredibly kind of her).

In the morning, Karen took me on a tour of the orchard, which is tucked into her backyard. She introduced me the 40 trees that make up the orchard (each named after a different woman who had inspired her) and told me about the joys and challenges of growing fruit.

Karen uses organic fertilizer, ladybugs, and love to raise her lemons and it shows in her gorgeous fruit. I am forever in awe of the fact that such glorious fruit just grows on trees in California (I realize it sounds ridiculous, but in the depths of Pennsylvania winter, such things don’t seem entirely possible).

For this week’s giveaway, Karen has offered up a gift box of her lemons to one lucky winner. This prize has a $30 value and contains 3 1/2 pounds of juicy, fragrant Meyer lemons. Use the widget below to enter!

Ooh, I would LOVE to make some Meyer Lemon curd!
Lemon curd, lemon meringue pie, limoncello!
Marmalade and salt preserved lemons!
I would LOVE a box!
Curd! LOTS of curd!
Lemon cheese cake and lemon bars……
Lemon curd would be great to make.
I love how tender and flavorful meyer lemons are for marmalade or candying the peels. So delicious.
If I win, I want to try making lemon marmalade. I had never even heard or thought about such a thing until this month’s challenge, and I am intrigued. I’d also make some lemon sauce to go over delicious homemade gingerbread.
Sous Vide Lemon Curd. Candied lemon peel. 1 Tablespoon portions juiced and frozen. 1 cup portions for tea and recipes like lemon bars.
I will make some lemon pies. I will dehydrate some.
I think preserved lemons would be nice!
Lemon bars!
I would make candied lemon peel, lemonade. Oven roasted veggies with a bright lemon dressing, so many ways!
Mmmmmm. I would make lemon curd.
Meyer lemon curd! Yum!
I love preserved Meyer lemons so much, but if I won these I would finally make limoncello too.
I’d love to try making lemon curd.
Preserved lemons!
Dehydrate slices, as Marissa mentioned, for iced green tea in the summer, marmalade, freeze some juice for jam/jelly making; a half-pint or so for those special batches.
I think lemon curd would be my next project!
I make meyer lemon curd and save for cakes or freeze in ice cubes for summertime vodka cocktails!
I love lemon. Lemon curd, lemonade, lemon poppyseed cake, chicken piccata, the list goes on and on!
Homemade lemon bars and garlic lemon chicken…YUM!
Truly inspiring farmer! These beauties look perfect for marmalade and a batch of curd ✨✨
I’d make lemon EVERYTHING! We’re in the middle of a snowstorm, and it’s grey and gloomy. A box of lemons would be a box of sunshine!
I would love to try making curd & marmalade. There would also have to be a lemon pie made!
Preserved lemons for vinaigrette!
After I get done just looking at them in a large bowl, I will juice, curd, preserve, and anything else I can think of. So glad I found this blog and face book page even if I don’t win. I want a Meyer Lemon tree. Any provider you can suggest?
Lemon curd! Or marmalade! Or salted and preserved! I don’t know! I always see recipes using Meyer lemons, but I never have access to them, so I don’t have any recipes for them on my to-do list.
I’d have to share with my friend Kate for sure!
Shaker Lemon Pie, which has thinly sliced lemons in it (rind on); limoncello; and maybe I will try lemon curd
If I won I would make as much Meyer lemon curd as I could! I love eating it straight from the jar or folding into whipped cream with some red raspberries for a lemon mousse of sorts. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
Oh my! So many things I would LOVE to try! I have yet to even try Myer Lemons, have wanted to for so long…. 🙂
I bought a small Meyer lemon when we lived in Ma. We then moved to TN for 3 years and it was happier in TN than in MA. We just moved to Florida in November and it has more blossoms on it than ever before!
My house could use some lemon curd and maybe some marmalade!
I would make lemon bread, lemon cookies and save some for lemon water.
I hope to try lemon marmalade. I make lots of fruit jams but have never tried lemons. These look beautiful!
These look so beautiful! I would make some marmalade and some quick breads. And maybe freeze some juice!
Oh my, lemon curd; lemon pie, lemonade…the beet goes on. Send them my way please. Thank you.
I’d love to have them for homemade lemonade and for squeezing into my tea!
Thanks!
Would love to use these to make either lemon curd or an herbed marmalade
This is awesome! Definitely a resource to add to my list. It’s so hard to get Meyer lemons in Memphis! I would love to use some of these to try a Meyer lemon based marmalade.
Oh my goodness! What would I NOT use them for??? I absolutely love Meyer lemons, and would be thrilled to have the chance to experiment with different kinds of marmelades and/or other applications. Yum!
I would love to make a batch of marmalade with these! And maybe keep a couple of out the batch to dry the zest and use juice for salad dressing or just to enjoy with sparkling water. Yum!
Meyer Limoncello!
I’ve never had the opportunity to work with Meyer lemons before, so this would be a real treat! Thanks for the opportunity.
I would love to make some lemon curd- yum!
Meyers are my favorite citrus ever. I make Meyer Lemon curd with it that is to die for. It cannot be canned safely but it freezes amazingly well.
Lemon curd, zest, in tea.
Thank you for the giveaway.
Definitely curd. Then a whole lot of zest and frozen juice!
