This month in the Mastery Challenge, we’re focusing on fermentation. In honor of our topic and in celebration of their brand! new! website!, long-time FIJ partner Fillmore Container is sponsoring a ferment-focused giveaway here on the blog.
Before we dig into the details of the giveaway, let’s talk a little about the new Fillmore Container site. First of all, it’s faster, mobile-friendly (so important for those emergency jar orders!) and so much easier to navigate. They’ve improved shopping, ordering, and reordering experience and have lowered their shipping rates!
The Fillmore Container blog is also brand new and ready for visitors. There’s an easy-to-use navigation bar at the top that makes it simple to find the information you want. Seasonal content is featured at the top of the page and as you scroll down, you’ll see thumbnails and links from the eight most recent posts.
Now, on to the giveaway! This time, one lucky winner will receive…
- One box of wide mouth quart jars from Orchard Road (a wide mouth quart is my favorite vessel for small batch fermentation)
- One reCAP wide mouth lid
- One reCAP Fermenter (it fits into the spout of the reCAP lid)
- One wide mouth iLid for stashing your finished ferment in the fridge
To enter the giveaway, use the widget below!
Disclosure: Fillmore Container is a Food in Jars sponsor and buys a monthly banner ad on this site. This giveaway is being offered as part of our partnership agreement. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed here are entirely mine.
And one more thing! Fillmore Container is also hosting a giveaway on their blog in conjunction with CanningCrafts over the same week that this giveaway will be live. Make sure to head over there and enter that as well!

There’s so many things to try!
Woo. Too hard to choose, but I’ll be dreaming and adding to my list.
I have a feeling fermenting may be my next obsession….
Love the new, big photos on the re-designed Fillmore website. It’s so much easier to see just what everything looks like!
I need more flip-top bottles. I need more pint mason jars. I need more half gallon mason jars. You can never have enough bottles and jars for fermenting and canning.
Oh, those pickle pebbles are still on my mind!
I need a crock – I usually just ferment in Mason jars, but a crock would up my game significantly
I really need a smaller container in which to do fermenting. My crock is really too big for my super small family.
The stainless steel funnels always catch my eye,
I just put together a new jar of kimchi to ferment with the cabbage from this week’s CSA. It’s currently bubbling away on the kitchen counter, but just with a brine filled ziploc bag as the weight/closure. A real airlock would be super exciting
Definitely the fourth burner
I love Filmore’s new site, so clean and bright and I’ve needn’t dying to ferment but have been too lazy to buy the supplies.
I have wanted a 4th Burner Pot 12 Cup Kuhn Rikon for quite a while…
I would love to have this kit
The new thing added to my list is some of these airlocks and lid set ups.
Seeing that my son thought my jar lifter was a toy and broke them.. I have that on my list. (happened at a perfect time.. right after harvest)
I want to start fermenting
I need to pick up a few of the Honey Bear jars. I could use those for the honey I buy from my friend, plus they would be great for fun gift packaging!
I think pickle pebbles would be great!
I like to have one of those Pickle Packer – Vegetable Tamper. It would make easy work of packing kraut into the jar.
As I venture into the world of sauerkraut these look awesome.
The recap looks very practical.
I’d like a case or 2 of the 16 oz Square Mason Jars.
I’ve been wanting to make kimchi and sauerkraut, but don’t want to do large batches initially, so this looks like a perfect way to get started!
Fermentation looks like fun! I’d love to try it with this kit 🙂
4th Burner Pot 12 Cup Kuhn Rikon
The airlock would be awesome. I’m pretty sure it will fit pour spouts on some of my bigger jars
Looks like this will make fermentation way easier!
The cute daisy lids!
The fermenter is such a great idea! I have never fermented (aside from kombucha) since it seemed like such a PITA to fill plastic bags with water and have extra plates or whatever to weigh things down, and I don’t want to have to buy a whole new crock either. Having a plug for a cap to a jar is so much simpler, easy to store when not in use, and fits on containers I already have… brilliant!
This is something I have wanted to learn so this would be great!
all those lids….I want about 6 different kinds of lids for my jars. I use them for almost everything.
I’d love any of the canning books. Thanks for the giveaway!
This is what I want to learn next!! Thanks Filmore!
Would love to try out your products for fermentation of my own produce! Thank you!

Love the coloured iLids – would be great for gifts or organizing the pantry.
