Cookbook Jitters

May 9, 2012

I first heard on Sunday. Amazon had copies of my book in stock and would be shipping them this week. I thought they wouldn’t start arriving until Friday, but this morning, a few friends got in touch to say that they’d gotten their copies today.

And then, when I checked my own mail, I found one waiting for me there (because I am a goofball, I ordered myself a copy through Amazon. I wanted the experience of having it appear in that familiar box).

I don’t entirely know how to articulate how this all feels. I’m thrilled, nervous and entirely freaked out. All I can say is that I hope you guys like it and that it finds a comfortable place in your kitchens.

    • I got my book today, it is sitting in my lap as I tap away. We buried my wonderful father in law yesterday. I am beat up from the funeral. Your book is the perfect answer to my weary soul. Thank you!

  1. Just got mine (two…one for a gift)! It’s beautiful. Sitting down to browse the pages right now.

  2. Hi Marissa. Received my book yesterday. It’s everything I expected and more. I love your blog and your book reads just like it. Friendly, fun and informative. Like sitting down with a dear friend. A very creative friend. My daughter is just starting to explore the preserving world and I turned her onto your blog. She’s a very big fan already. She plans on making your Lemon Curd as her first adventure. I bought her a copy of your book also and I look forward to spending time with her dreaming over your recipes, then sharing samples with each other. Thank you for a great book.

  3. Just got the email that mine has shipped! I’m very excited to have it in my kitchen for this year’s canning season! Best of luck ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I ordered mine yesterday along with the silicon trivet you use in your canning pot. I’m looking forward to using both of them.

  5. My book arrived yesterday, I’m so excited! I want to make every recipe I’ve read, lots of new wonderful ideas. The friends and family on my holiday gift list will have you to thank for scrumptious Gifts In Jars! Thanks!
