Happy October, friends! To kick off the season of spooky, I’ve got a fun giveaway for you guys from our friends at Mason Jar Lifestyle (they’re a regular site sponsor). These lids, straw toppers, straws, and straw holders are the perfect way to get into the fun of Halloween in a way that’s reusable and sustainable!
Here’s what the winner of the giveaway will get:
- Four sets of these Halloween-themed lid inserts. They come in four different styles and you’ll get a pack of each.
- Two three-packs of straw lids. The first set is in a fun cobweb design and the second comes in a ghost design (the straw hole is the ghost’s mouth!).
- A four-pack of these medium stainless steel straws.
- A straw sleeve, perfect for keeping your reusable straws clean and ready-to-use, even when you’re dashing around town.

I’ve always been a bit ‘dark’ with a delight in the macabre — these would work year round for me! As for Halloween, we live on a popular haunted hayride route so we’ll be carving pumpkins and dressing up starting this Saturday. It’s all for a good cause — our local fire department — so our neighborhood pulls together and we all do our best to frighten the beejeezus out of people. Good times.
Definitely trick-or-treating and costumes! Also baking pumpkin goods!
For me, Halloween/Fall is all about pumpkin picking/carving (we’ve got about 7 big pumpkins so far!), eating pumpkin pie, and buying any cute Halloween kitchen towels I can get my hands on (Target and Kohl’s are usually my favorite places to find them!).
We decorate with pumpkins and such for the fall and on Halloween our closest small town has wonderful trick or treating for the kids. Then home for the kids to pay the ‘parent tax’ with chocolate and eat a few pieces of candy before theyhead to bed and we typically have to thaw out or dry off….seems to always be cold or rainy or both on Halloween!
Wait for the cute kids to come to the door…..
Love the kids arriving and orange (my favorite color) everyplace.
I start decorating in September and watch all of the Halloween movies!
Love Halloween and would love to use these for my Halloween themed book club!
I usually buy one new decoration a year. This would keep me out of the store!
I use to celebrate Halloween BIG! Now that I have retired, and kids are grown, we get no trick-or-treaters. Makes me sad.
We decorate (at least a little bit) but our major fun is going trick or treating with the cousins!
i look forward to pumpkin carving, sitting on my new (to me) front porch, playing spooky music, and terrifying the kiddos just before giving them handfuls of tooth-rotting delights. it only comes once a year!! plus – dressing up. 😀
Dressing up and handing out candy to the costumed neighbor kids!
passing out glow-sticks right, left, and center. 🙂 Safety first!
I love these! They are fabulous.
Love these. Love all that you do.
I love decorating my home for Halloween, almost as much as Christmas. My grandson loves it.
Costumes and candy are the best 😛
I recently had dinner with friends and they had these stainless steel straws, which were amazing. I was wondering where to get them, and low and behold, you have shown me. Thanks!
We carve pumpkins then take the kiddo out begging for candy. 🙂
What a fun idea!
I love Halloween and celebrate in every way I can. Love the little ways as much as the big things. These are delightful!
How fun. I didn’t used to be in to Halloween so much but lately I’ve been more open to the decorating and special recipes.
We used to hang up cobwebs, drop spiders on the kids, play weird sounds, scare the kids to death & dress up to hand out goodies. One year I even gave away spiders!!! My dad used to come home early for Hallowe’en because he loved it so much. But, no kids come knocking any more – our whole neighborhood goes to the Mall or the Community centre because it’s too dangerous to go door to door. And it’s usually pouring rain, windy & cold as well. So, we buy goodies for the Community centre now. We stay home with hot toddies, popcorn & take out chicken with the lights down low & watch TV & smooch. Not a bad way to celebrate when you get right down to it . . .
We go all out for Halloween! We decorate the house inside and out and make our costumes every year!!
The scariest was when we went Tom the haunted house at the lunatic asylum close by
Give out candy to local kids
Painting pumpkins, pepitas and pies!
Great Halloween ideas.
I love dressing up, with Miss Frizzle being my latest costume of choice. Also can’t deny I love the goodies. And baking with the pumpkins afterwards!
I just moved into a rental with a street-facing door, so now I can hand out candy for the first time in a decade. I’m very excited for Halloween this year!
With my son being older, I’m waiting for grandchildren now for trick or treating again. Some of the last years, I’ve gone out downtown with him or my sister, it’s fun to watch all the different costumes.
We don’t get trick-or-treaters at the house, so it mostly involves cooking spooky items for the family
Don’t celebrate Halloween. Husband is usually working which leaves me home along. Living in the country we don’t get trick or treaters.
All of our decorations gave to daughter.
Thank you for this giveaway opportunity
We love Halloween! I always decorate my house and put together new costumes each year for me & my boys. They are too old to trick or treat now (that transition was bittersweet), so they have been helping me hand out candy to little ones for the last few years. I always help plan my department’s halloween party & this year I think I will dress up like a gypsy at work, a girl ghostbuster for trick-or-treaters. Thanks for the giveaway!
I haven’t always loved Halloween, it’s my birthday so I kind of got tired of it. As I’ve gotten older, I now love it! I decorate including making my own wreath and other DIY decorations. I love handing out candy and seeing the kids in their adorable costumes. After the trick or treating ends, my husband and I go out to dinner for my birthday. There is room for everything!
In recent years, we have seen such a major decline in trick-or-treaters. Once, we could expect around
200…last year we had only 18. Kinda sad. These jar toppers are really cute.
Put up a few decorations, but mainly just fall decorations. And we hang out at the house & pass out candy for trick or treating.
Lots of pumpkins and pumkin flavored beverages and especially my mom’s famous pumpkin bread!
Carving pumpkins!!!
We celebrate very quietly, but enjoy watching what everyone else is doing. Fun, fall stuff.
Lots of pumpkins and mums! I love a natural look!
Pumpkin patches, costumes, decorating, you name it. I love celebrating!
I enjoy making ‘Thank You’ treats for the post office and bank staff. It’s fun making Halloween treats as there’s so much variety for the holiday!
So adorable!! It’s always nice to have something a little festive…
We love to make fancy pumpkins with patterns then serve cider and snickerdoodles along with candy on Halloween night.
Cute lids!
How do I celebrate Halloween? Costumes? – YES Spooky decorations? -NO, Fun Vintage Deco & Pumpkins! Corn mazes? – Not really, I don’t go to the commercial stuff all that much. Share your favorite seasonal activities! – I enjoy camp fires, warm apple cider, making pies and pumpkin rolls as well as apple crips! Making wine and canning all my fall fruits and vegetables. We have an abundance! It is my favorite season of the year!
A few years ago I found an amazing 3D skull cake pan, so I now host a Halloween party each year complete with raspberry jam filled cake.
Will be celebrating by baking lots and handing out lots and lots of candy
It’s fun t give money instead of candy.
There is a venue with a huge jack-o-lantern installation (like thousands of them) relatively near us. Last year was the first time we visited, but we are thinking it needs to be an annual event!
Candy corn and home grown pumpkins!,
I usually celebrate Halloween by participating in a party at work, our Black and Orange party.
We just decorate with a harvest theme and have seasonal food from the garden.
My family celebrates Halloween by carving a pumpkin into a Jack O’Lantern, handing out treats, and usually dressing up and going to a Halloween party.
We always decorate the yard starting on 1 October. Our small community hosts a Trick or Treat for the children at the local community center on the 31st in place of the kids going on the streets. Lots of community support and great time for all involved. We do not have street lights and live where it is dangerous to be walking after dark. I commend the community for coming together to allow the tradition continues for the families. And it is a great volunteer opportunity for all.
I love fall! Halloween is a time to celebrate the harvest season and plenty. Decorate with pumpkins, squash, corn stalks and other natural items of the season.
We set up a table in the front yard with candles and spooky music and sit out there and hand out candy.
I love Halloween, and am already decorated!
I love to dress up and trick or treat with my kids.
I love dressing up my dog and handing out candy to the kids in the neighborhood.
Normally, I dress up for work but since it doesn’t fall on a work day this year all I might be doing is making a pumpkin pie.
Chili, hotdogs and candy. Sitting out in the driveway enjoying all the kiddos and costumes!
We celebrate by going to friends’ Halloween costume party. Last year, I went as a Bipolar Bi Polar Bear.
My 4 year old is obsessed with pumpkins. We started making milk jug ghosts that light up for the walk way and we always have a hay bale, mums and gourds. Love the fall!
I eat/hide all of my kids’ candy in the freezer and then use it to bribe them to do chores.
The any excuse for costumes! We aren’t big into jack o lanterns, but we usually carve at least one for the seeds.
Lots of candy, cider, and scary movies. Costumes if we go to a party.
We decorate and eat all the candy
My family’s Halloween tradition is dressing up in costumes, usually handmade, and watching Arsenic and Old Lace together.
What cute toppers for jars! Love it!
We love to decorate the house, carve pumpkins and preserve the harvest. Lots of apple cider is involved!
Cant wait for halloween
One can never have too many canning jars. The Halloween jar is perfect for deco!
Unfortunately, I live on a street that is only one block long and trick-or-treaters tend to overlook it (I had to get stuck with candy two years in a row to actually believe it!), so I celebrate Halloween by going to my boyfriend’s parents’ house to hand out candy!
These are adorable! hope I win!
These are so cute! Thanks for the opportunity to win a set.
My grands would love it if I won these
We do costumes, pumpkin carving and roasted pumpkin seeds!
What a cool idea ! I have never seen these before. Sure beats candy (read calories)
We hand out candy, carve pumpkins and decorate a bit outside with dried flowers, etc.
We pass out candy during the neighborhood association trick or treat event.
These are perfect for the Halloween dinner table that I set every year and ties in with the Day of the Dead. What fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We mainly celebrate the harvest aspects of it and love carving pumpkins.
We don’t get too many trick or treaters…so I give out full size candy bars…yum!!!
We do costumes and trick or treat
Me and my family decorate, hand out candy, and dress up.
I love fall, I love candy and love Halloween. I love dressing up and handing out candy. I try to have a good selection for all ages and potential allergies.
