Friends, I am feeling more than a little bit unhinged right now. I can count the number of days before this book is due on my fingers and toes and I am feeling every morsel of that stress. I am embarrassed to admit how many times I’ve lost my cool over the littlest things.
So I’m just going to leave this picture of rhubarb here in place of a recipe, canning tips, or anything truly useful. I’ll be back with something more fulfilling soon.
Just wanted to tell you to hang in there. I was feeling a little unhinged myself which is why i found myself unable to sleep an on this site when i read this post. Please know that there are people who truly love and appreciate all that you do. I havent been canning for a long time but it has become a huge stress reliever for me and your site had kept me informed and inspired. Just know you are very much appreciated.
Hang in there! Sending positive thoughts, energy and calm your way.
You can do it!! You’ve already done the major work by building the necessary expertise and inspiration. Your book will set up like a jar of jam–beautifully and right on time. You’ve got it, Marisa.
I just want to thank you for putting so much effort, energy and love into your work. Your first two books inspired me to take up canning, something that always scared me. I am a buyer for the next one, whenever it’s ready.
Take care of yourself first, the rest will follow.
Sending you deadline mojo!
Take the time for yourself now – we’ll all be here when you get back!
Sending you love, inspiration, peace – and the joy that you experience doing something you know and love to share with all of us – how wonderful is that!
Breathe. Love you, love the rhubarb. We’re fine on the back burner….
:^)
Congratulations on this book! I think its awesome you have this incredible blog and book deal. Your creativity is wonderful and I love reading your work. You’re doing great. The stress shall pass. Good luck!
You can do this!! All good things are worth waiting for, and this book is a good thing! We’ll be here when you get back 🙂
We can’t wait to see your book…Rhubarb is my favourite and a really good substitute for a long post!!
Deep breathing. Focus. Repeat. Get out in the fresh air and breath. Treat yourself to something totally off the chart for lunch. And a glass of wine. Go to a movie. Have dinner out in a restaurant that you have always wanted to go to, but haven’t. Yet. And dessert. And a glass of wine. You have some difficult times ahead of you and you need some fresh air in your sails! And Sail You Will! Give Yourself Every Possible Chance to Succeed! And You Will!!
You’re worth the wait, Marisa. We’ll all still be here whenever you get back.
The first thing I saw as I settled in to work this morning was your beautiful picture of rhubarb, and it made me happy 🙂 Sending you positive thoughts!

I just sent a book (not mine, oh no) off to press a week-and-a-half ago and I was swearing in the wee hours to get it done. sighhhhh But you will do better than that 🙂
The rhubarb is fine. Don’t stress out over the blog – we’re all fine. What will be truly useful to all of us will be your new book! We all understand where you need to be now. Good luck – can’t wait to see it.
Rhubarb! I’m on my way to the store right now to buy some to go with my eight quarts of strawberries for canning. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow in the kitchen – no new blog post required. 🙂 Hang in there!
