2016 Classes

February 4 – Canning demo with the Swarthmore Co-op. I’ll show you how to make a small batch of pear vanilla jam, will detail the canning process from start to finish, and will answer all your food preservation questions. 7-8:30 pm. Costs $25. More details and registration info.

February 16 – Food in Jars for Teens at the Free Library of Philadelphia. This free canning workshop at the Culinary Literacy Center is open to all teens. 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Registration info.

March 19 – Introduction to preserving with natural sweeteners at Greensgrow Farm in Philadelphia. Class is from 12 noon to 2 pm. More details and registration info.

April 16 – Beaverton! Canning demo and book signing at the Beaverton Farmers Market.

April 19 – Seattle! Natural Sweeteners Class at The Pantry at Delancey.

April 20 – Seattle! Canning demo and book signing at Book Larder.

May 8 – Special Mother’s Day talk and book signing with WHYY. More details to come.

Public Demos and Workshops

I am available to teach canning demos at libraries, festivals, and other public events. Fees for those services vary. I am currently booking dates for all of 2016.
