Tomorrow (Friday, August 8) in Lancaster County

so many peppers

I’m headed to Lancaster County bright and early tomorrow morning for a day of events! If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you at one of these classes or demos! I’ve heard that the demo at Fillmore Container is practically sold out, but there is plenty of availability at Lemon Street Market. As added incentive, everyone who comes out will get a Food in Jars sticker!

Hi Marisa, I was at you first demo of the day at Fillmore Containers. I hope the rest of your day went as well. On my way home, I stopped at a Mennonite roadside stand to pick up some sweet corn (my first of the season, always exciting.) It must have been fate, because they had local apricots, too. I originally planned to make the same jam as you did in the demo, but leafing through your book I found the Honey Sweetened Apricot Lavender Butter. I was so happy that I had all of the ingredients. The honey used is wildflower, the best I’ve ever tasted, from an apiary in Strasburg. I’m eyeing up the Peach Jam with Sriracha as something to do with heat. I also made the Sweet and Sour Red Onions. I’m so glad that I happened upon your blog last month!
